Mengyu Yang’s (1995- ) works are about the tiny details that she notices in everyday life. They elicit some subtle emotions in her.

Not those extreme happy or sad emotions, but rather mild anxiety, curiosity, and ambivalence. Typically, this is the type of thing that we either ignore or forget about quickly. As a result, she attempts to capture and expand on those emotions through her artworks.

The end result is sometimes in standard format, but other times in tiny size but large quantity. So that the little things and details can power themselves.

Furthermore, she believes that the manner in which the work is presented is an integral part of it; with this format, she can experiment with her works depending on the space and mood.
