Tal Walker

Young Steinway Artist, Tal Walker, is an Israeli-Belgian pianist specialised in the French repertoire. In 2017, he won the bronze medal at the 18th Osaka International Music Competition in Japan and has been invited to prestigious artistic residencies such as Villa Lena in Italy (2018, 2022) and the Banff Centre for Arts and Creativity in Canada (2019), where he received the “Ken and Marie Madsen” grant to record pieces by Ravel and Debussy. In 2022, he released his acclaimed debut album “Fauré, Poulenc, Messiaen: Préludes & Nocturnes”, produced by the Galaxie-Y endowment fund, and praised by International Piano Magazine, Radio France, Classical Music Magazine UK, Globes Magazine Israel among others. As a soloist, Tal has performed with orchestras in Belgium, Italy and Poland. He has performed on international stages such as Salle Cortot in Paris, Steinway Hall in London and Belgium’s Royal Flemish Opera. In addition to his solo career, he has played in various chamber music ensembles and participated in international festivals and masterclasses with renowned artists such as Michel Béroff, Rafal Blechacz, Jean-Philippe Collard, Philippe Entremont and Anne Queffelec, among many others. Tal is a graduate of conservatories in the Netherlands and Belgium, where he studied with Avi Schönfeld and Eliane Rodrigues. He also studied at the École Normale de Musique de Paris – Alfred Cortot, where he was in the class of Madame Françoise Thinat, and worked with Monsieur Philippe Entremont in Paris and Fontainebleau. Tal Walker is the founder and artistic director of the “Monsieur Croche” concert series in Belgium, featuring a vast repertoire of French music. He is currently pursuing doctoral studies at the Royal College of Music in London, where he has been awarded a scholarship while teaching as a Teaching Assistant.

Praised by Cleveland Classical for his “exquisite playing”, Or Re’em is a winner of national and international awards in Israel, France, Italy and the USA. Mr Re’em has graduated from the Juilliard school in New York and the Cleveland Institute of Music, and pursues a versatile performing career, performing repertoire ranging from William Byrd and Girolamo Frescobaldi through György Sándor Ligeti and Elliott Carter. Re’em has been invited to give solo recitals across Israel, Europe, North America, and China, in such venues as the Tel Aviv Museum of Art, Alice Tully Hall, Lincoln Center, New York, KonzertHaus in Berlin, Salle Cortot, Paris, and Palau de la Musica, Barcelona. Mr Re’em’s orchestral engagements include performances of concerti by Mozart, Beethoven Brahms, Chopin and Rachmaninov with orchestras such as the Israel Symphony, the Israel Chamber Orchestra, the Israel Radio Symphony, The Haifa Symphony, Belgrade Philharmonic, and the Torun Symphony Orchestra, Poland. Many of his performances were featured live on the national Israeli radio station ‘Voice of Music’ as well as on television and radio stations in Germany, Serbia, Spain and China. Re’em’s repertoire includes encyclopedic cycles such as Chopin’s Etudes and preludes as well as Bach’s Well-Tempered Clavier, which he has performed in Israel and the USA. He has performed at the inauguration concert of the Beethoven Festival in Rolandseck-Remagen, Germany, the opening concert of the International Schubertiade in Tel Aviv, as well as at the CLAMO Music Festival in Murcia, Spain. A dedicated chamber musician, Re’em is regularly involved in collaborations with other musicians. He has performed with the Talich String Quartet at the ‘Musica Mundi’ Chamber Music Festival in Brussels, Belgium, as well as at the ‘Voice of Music’ Festival in the Upper Galilee, Israel. 2017-2019 he has served as the founder and Artistic Director of Music in the Circle International Music Festival in Cleveland, Ohio. Mr Re’em currently resides in Switzerland and serves as the artistic director of the Zurich Chamber Music Society.
