Het Trio Malatya is een kamermuziekensemble uit Gent. Het is opgericht in 2022 door drie beloftevolle jonge musici: Yassine Posman (klarinet), Jacob Van Durme (cello) en Taha Posman (piano) . Samen willen ze het weinig gekende en gespeelde repertoire voor klarinet, cello en piano van Beethoven en Brahms tot hedendaagse componisten en alles wat er tussen en naast ligt te lijf gaan. 

Negentien jaar verstreken vooraleer de drie heren zich realiseerden op een boogscheut van elkaar te wonen en dezelfde ambities te delen, waarna ze zich met een mix van gedreven enthousiasme, muzikaal (en ander) plezier en veeleisende professionaliteit het Klarinettrio op.114 van Brahms meester maakten en met succes uitvoerden in de Gentse Miryzaal. In februari 2023 werd het trio laureaat van de BLM competition georganiseerd door de Bijloke en wonnen ze de publieksprijs en de eerste prijs van de Supernova wedstrijd. Vanuit hun gedeelde passie voor klassieke, romantische én hedendaagse kamermuziek wil het Trio Malatya zich de komende jaren blijvend toeleggen op de verkenning en herontdekking van het repertoire voor klarinet, cello en piano.

The Trio Malatya is a chamber music ensemble from Ghent. It is founded in 2022 by three young promising musicians: Yassine Posman (clarinet), Jacob Van Durme (cello) and Taha Posman (piano) . Together they want to master the lesser known and played repertoire for clarinet, cello and piano from Beethoven and Brahms until contemporary composers and everything in between.

Nineteen years passed before the three gentlemen realised that they lived a stone’s throw from each other and shared the same ambitions, which lead them to master, with a mix of driven enthusiasm, musical (and other) joy and demanding professionalism the Clarinettrio op.114 by Brahms, and successfully perform it in the Miryhall in Ghent. In February 2023 the trio became laureate of the BLM competition organised by the Bijloke and won the publics prize and first prize of the Supernova competition. From a shared passion for classical, romantic and contemporary music the Trio Malatya wants to remain focused in the coming years on the exploration and rediscovering of the repertoire for clarinet, cello and piano.
